Kira reached out to me about Lavallette Family Photos in honor of her Mother’s birthday. I love doing beach photos at Golden Hour (the hour before sunset) because the light is so dreamy! I met Kira and her family in front of their newly finished beach house on summer evening. We had the best time and made great memories together!
I loved their outfits. They chose a color scheme of white and tan which produced a result that was cohesive, yet not too match. It looked natural and effortless. I always recommend going barefoot for family photos on the beach and I love a nice flowy dress on the women. If you do opt for a flowy dress- make sure its long. A short dress can easily blow up on a windy beach. Long dresses show enough movement while still keeping you covered!
For any type of family photos, I recommend keeping your outfits neutral and patternless. Too much going on with your outfits can distract from the connection of the family photos. If we are shooting on the beach, I love colors that compliment the natural beauty of the landscape- tans, whites, shades of blue and even a touch of pink works really well. Avoid anything too bold, colorful or noisy.
Obviously, Kira and her family knocked it out of the park in the outfit department. Also, in the cuteness department, as seen below!
