Hey there mama! Congratulations on becoming a new parent! I am so excited for you to see the cutest little boy baby shower. Boy themes can be difficult but this adorable theme makes the decision easy! To be fair- this is a cute baby shower theme that would also work great for a girl. And truthfully, its a great theme if you aren’t finding out the gender as well! This particular party chose various shades of baby blue and white color palette with little star and moon elements mixed in. While blue colors may be an obviously a popular choice, you can truly do so much with this theme! It would even work great for a winter baby shower!

Either way, Ashwinee and her planner, Xin, from Le Petite Prive knocked it out of the park with the great idea for this adorable baby shower theme!

Spring certainly is shower season, and I don’t just mean the weather! March is typically a busy month for me! Last weekend, I photographed two showers- a baby shower and a bridal shower. I love starting off the year with showers before breaking into the very busy wedding months.

First, I started the weekend with Ashwinee’s Moon and Stars baby shower at Liberty House in Jersey City. I photographed a wedding awhile back at Maritime Parc, across the parking lot. I always wanted an event at Liberty House!

Ashwinee absolutely knocked it out of the park when choosing this shower theme. And Xinny from Le Petite Prive did a beautiful job with the decor. I can’t believe she handled the design, dessert table, balloons AND florals!

Fun Baby Shower Themes for Boys

Moon and stars is the perfect baby shower theme for any shower- boy or girl! I love a good gender neutral theme and this would even be great if you didn’t know what you were having! Its the perfect theme because its elegant, yet appropriate. I love the blue and white color scheme in this shower but this cute idea could also be done beautifully for a girl.

Do you think a theme is necessary for a baby shower? Personally, I love a good theme. I think it anchors the event into a focal point. This shower beautifully told the story, while honoring the theme, but also adding elegance and class through the candles and flowers. Yet, it still managed to stay cutesy and appropriate to honor their unborn baby.

The Baby Shower Process

When photographing a baby shower, I always recommend to my client that my arrival is scheduled to begin 30 minutes before the shower starts. This gives me time to capture all the beautiful details and wide room shots before the guests arrive. I also like to be there to capture the guest of honor’s arrival. If possible, it’s also great to get a few shots with the mama to be alone in the room at the various stations before her friends and family whisk her away.

Make up by Mansi specializes in South Asian weddings. And Ashwinee was absolutely glowing with just enough make up to still look natural. She also did Ashwinee’s hair!

Carrie from GoodieBox Bake Shop always knocks it out of the park on these cakes! I love working with her so much. I even drove 2 hours round trip to get my son’s 7th birthday cake from her! She is so talented.

This was one of my favorite parts of the day. When Ashwinee’s family blessed her and her sweet baby boy with a traditional Indian Blessing.
