You may remember my client, Deanna from her gorgeous bridal shower at the Madison Hotel a few years ago. Well her son, Anthony turned one this year and she created the cutest Wild One Birthday inspire by the classic book, Where the Wild Things Are. Let’s be honest- most kids parties are REALLY for adults. And this one is no different…or is it? Because while this party hits all the marks for the adults- wine & beer, great food, beautiful decor, good company, etc, etc. It also keeps the many little ones in attendance pretty pleased. Deanna (who used to be a first grade teacher, before resigning to stay home with her son, Anthony) hired a kids’ entertainer to sing and perform, set the most beautiful kids table I’ve ever seen and of course there were cookies and dessert. See more party highlights below!

Wild One Birthday Party Meaning

Wild One is a popular first birthday party theme that could mean safari / jungle party or, like in this case, a Where the Wild Things are party based on the classic book. I love this theme because while many of my clients hire planners, you can find tons of party props and decor on line to recreate this look yourself!

For example, Amazon and Etsy have some really cute and affordable wild one party supplies for every budget. I love this wild one gold crown (so your little one can be king of all the wild things!) And personally, I would also get this wild one balloon to display behind the cake- perfect for family photo ops!
