Today, I am sharing with you some of my favorite locations in the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania area for your garden engagement photos. There are so many great places to shoot in the New York metro area, but being that New Jersey’s nickname is the garden state, it makes sense that there are tons of wonderful garden locations here.
The beach is not only a great place to take pictures, but it is my favorite location, in particular, to take family photos. But, beach sessions can be tricky between the harsh lighting, the wind and crowds and family photography is also pretty tough! I had to make many mistakes before coming up with a system that worked well for me. In this post, I am going to share my best tips to help you prepare for, shoot and edit the best beach family photo session you have ever had.
Sonya and Brian had the most perfect wedding day at the most beautiful garden wedding venue located in Villanova, Pennsylvania, The Appleford Estate. Their wedding was impeccably planned by my favorite planners, Jen and Caitlin of The Joy Standard.
Jess and Chris chose the gorgeous Ringwood Manor in Ringwood NJ for their engagement session this past week and I am so glad they did! Also known as the New Jersey Botanical Garden located in Ringwood State Park, this location is probably my favorite for your New Jersey engagement photos. The Skylands Botanical garden is truly one of the most beautiful places for your engagement photo session and of course they do weddings too! You do need a special use permit to shoot in this location, but I secure one every year for my clients because I love this location so much! It is such a glamorous setting and even though it is at the tippy top of New Jersey (super closer to New York)- it is SO worth the trip! It poured the entire day of Morgan & Kevin’s wedding. Good thing they chose the Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury for their wedding and we had so many beautiful covered places to shoot!
If you are looking for the perfect wedding gift for your sister, look no further. I photograph a lot of weddings and bridal showers, so I have seen it all in the gift giving department!
As the sister of the bride, you will have lots of opportunities to give the perfect gift between the engagement party, bridal shower, bachelorette party and of course the big day. Choosing a unique gift can be difficult for someone you’ve known for such a long time! If your sister is also your best friend, you may feel even more added pressure to come up with a truly thoughtful gift, as opposed to giving money. Personally, I do feel that my bride’s favorite gifts- the ones that truly make an impact are personalized in some way. I mean, anyone can give her a coffee maker, right? But try not to stress. Sometimes simple gifts make the best wedding gifts.
I love photographing engagement sessions! An engagement photo shoot is a great way to get to know your couple before photographing the wedding day. Having an engagement session with your couple before the big day is the best way I have found to get them feeling confident and looking natural in their wedding photos. Basically, it’s great practice for the wedding day for both you, the photographer and the couple!
I had so much fun with Amy and Steve during their engagement session. They chose the perfect location- Divine Park in Spring Lake, New Jersey for their engagement photos. I love this spot because its like having two locations in one! First, we started at Divine Park, then just before sunset we drove down the street for some glowy beach photos.
I am so excited for you to see the cutest little boy baby shower. Boy themes can be difficult but this adorable theme makes the decision easy! To be fair- this is a cute baby shower theme that would also work great for a girl. And truthfully, its a great theme if you aren’t finding out the gender as well! This particular party chose various shades of baby blue and white color palette with little star and moon elements mixed in. While blue colors may be an obviously a popular choice, you can truly do so much with this theme! It would even work great for a winter baby shower!
My talented friend, Joanna, of Hazel Dust Studio, planned this styled shoot as a fundraiser to help the people of Eukraine and the result was just beautiful.
